We systematically developed the younger generation: the directors who started with us are now performing all over the world, actors have gained popularity, make-up artists have grown into makeup artists, assistant directors into stage managers. And today it's time to think about who we are grateful to, and celebrate them with our Korsh Award.
The first Korsh Award ceremony was stylized by director Mikhail Rakhlin as a film festival. Especially for the ceremony, he shot the film "Secrets of the Red Tower", in which he told the main milestones of the history of the Theater of Nations in a parody form. The program "Mystical stories with Viktor Verzhbitsky" was taken as a basis. Verzhbitsky also became the main character of the film, and Lia Akhedzhakova, Chulpan Khamatova, Ingeborg Dapkunaite, Julia Peresild, Anatoly Bely, Vladimir Mashkov, Konstantin Bogomolov, Maxim Didenko, Pavel Rudnev, the management and staff of the Theater of Nations starred in it.
— In order not to stand still, so as not to get dizzy from success, we continue to work and look for interesting material, make discoveries, negotiate with foreign directors, - says Evgeny Mironov. - And in the new season we will explore the theater again in a variety of ways. This also applies to creative laboratories in the New Space of the Theater of Nations, which we plan to give to young directors. And two main scenes. We will give them the opportunity for very different masters to turn to the classics: Robert Lepage will show a more traditional view on the example of The Master and Margarita, and Konstantin Bogomolov, who is working on a play based on Ostrovsky's comedy, and Marat Gatsalov, who, together with the playwright Mikhail Durnenkov, will explore Chekhov. In addition, we love musical theater, and despite the already large number of musical performances, we can not calm down in any way. We have obtained permission to stage the legendary musical "Cabaret", and Evgeny Pisarev will make us this gift by the end of the season.
Total in the 2021-2022 season . The Theater of Nations will present more than a dozen premieres, among which the aforementioned "For Every Wise Man" by Konstantin Bogomolov, "The Master and Margarita" by Robert Lepage, "Cabaret" by Evgeny Pisarev, as well as Marina Brusnikina, Nikita Grinshpun, Marat Gatsalov and Dmitry Serdyuk will start working on new productions.
The results of the director's laboratory of the Dostoevsky 200 program dedicated to the bicentennial anniversary of the classic of Russian literature F.M. will be shown in the New Space of the Theater of Nations.Dostoevsky. Seven young directors take part in the laboratory: Mikhail Milkis, Ilya Moshitsky, Nikita Kobelev, Evgeny Malenchev, Anna Sinelnikova, Regina Sattarova, Kanako Suzuki.
